What is Shearling?
Shearling is natural sheep skin – one of the first garments to shelter man from the elements. It is the hide of the sheep turned inside out, with the soft lanolin wool against your body and the hide on the outside. This combination of hide and soft wool makes a natural insulator, which provides amazing warmth. Shearling comes in a variety of textures, thickness and quality. It can be soft or coarse in texture, have long or short hair, be light and airy or thick and dense. Shearling is warm without weight, a naturally luxurious garment that is politically correct, and is an incredibly long-lasting investment. Shearling is an all natural by-product and a renewable resource that promotes a sound agricultural and livestock ecosystem.
