What is Shearling?

Shearling is natural sheepskin – one of the first garments to shelter man from the elements. It is the hide of the sheep turned inside out, with the soft lanolin wool against your body and the hide on the outside. This combination of hide and soft wool makes a natural insulator, which provides amazing warmth.

Shearling comes in a variety of textures, thickness and quality. It can be soft or coarse in texture, have long or short hair, be light and airy or thick and dense. Shearling is warm without weight, a naturally luxurious garment that is politically correct, and is an incredibly long-lasting investment. Shearling is an all natural by-product and a renewable resource that promotes a sound agricultural and livestock ecosystem.


How do I store, clean, and care for my shearling?

Our shearling garments are a lifetime guarantee and made to last for years to come, that’s why proper storage is vital in keeping your shearling the best shape.
Always hang your shearling garment on a well-shaped and padded hanger and give it some breathing room when hanging in the closet, it should never be stuffed in with other items.Keep your shearling in a cloth garment bag for an extended period of time, and keep it away from direct sunlight, as it can fade the garment over time.
Shearling can be worn in light snow or a light drizzle, but if you get caught in heavy rain, simply just dry your shearling gently with a towel and allow it to dry at room temperature, away from any heat source. Once dry, use a suede brush on the suede side and a gentle steel comb on the hair side.
While accidents may happen, always take your shearling to a leather or suede specialist for cleaning, not your normal dry cleaner’s.


What is vegetal tanned?

We are proud to use only chemical-free skins for all of our products.The leather goods are dyed by the vegetal tanning process, which is all natural and makes our products scratch-resistant and water-resistant.


How do you ship your orders?

We ship via UPS or Fed-Ex and are proud to offer free shipping for U.S. orders over $. Please note that we do not ship to hotels or P.O. boxes, unless the address is a military (APO or FPO) or university address. A Fed-Ex tracking # will be sent to you via email once your order is shipped for you to track.

Orders for items in stock will be shipped by the following business day. Delivery dates will be as follows depending on shipping method chosen and according to UPS or Fed-Ex days of operation schedule.

UPS or Fed-Ex Ground Shipping: Delivery will occur within 4-7 business days following the shipment date.
UPS/ FED-EX 3-Day: Delivery will occur within 3 business days following the shipment date.
UPS/ FED-EX 2-Day: Delivery will occur within 2 business days following the shipment date.
UPS/ FED-EX 1-Day: Delivery will occur the next business day following the shipment date.


Do you ship Internationally?

We at Aston Leather ship internationally using Fed-Ex and UPS International Priority Service for all international orders. If you do not see your country listed in our country selection window please send us an email to find out if it requires special arrangement. We highly recommend for you to get in touch with your local custom authorities to find out associating duties and taxes for your order as we do not cover your order for duties and taxes.

International orders are prepared and delivered within 4-7 business days upon receiving your order.

Duties & Taxes

Your payment for an order is only for the cost of the item and shipping charges. Unfortunately we can not inform you regarding a foreign country’s custom laws since each country follows different guidelines in determining the associated duties and taxes for a given product category. Please note that it is the buyer’s responsibility for paying all duties and taxes associating with your order. We recommend all international customers to get in touch with their local custom office in determining the custom fees. In the unlikely event of a buyer’s refusal of delivery of a shipment, all return duties and taxes would be paid by the buyer. The buyer is also responsible for covering the return shipping charges.


What is your Return Policy?

In the event that any product does not meet your expectations, send it back to us for exchange or refund. Returns/exchanges are accepted within 30 days from date of receipt. They must be in pristine condition and accompanied by the packing slip and an RA# (Return Authorization Number) given by Aston Leather. (To acquire an RA#, please call Aston Leather at 888-ASTON-11 (888-278-6611) or 212-481-2760.

All returns will be credited to your credit card account upon processing of the returned item(s) and your credit should appear on your next statement. Please allow 5-7 business days for receipt and processing of your return. Please note, however, a $14.95 return shipping fee will be deducted from your refund on orders from $75 and above. Unless it is our fault, in which case there will be no deductions. Exchanges are free of additional shipping charges. Simply either email service@astonleather.com or contact us at 888-278-6611 to obtain an RA# (Return/Exchange Authorization) number. We will then email you a prepaid return shipping label. Upon receiving your return we will ship you the replacement/exchanged item.  Please allow 5-7 business days for receipt and processing of your exchange. If an item exchange is due to a mistake on the part of Astonleather.com or issues of quality, the exchanged items will be shipped at no cost to you via Standard Ground delivery.

How do I know my order has been shipped?

Orders take 1-3 business days for processing before they are shipped. When your order has been shipped, we we will send an email confirming the shipment is shipped out along with the tracking number which can be traced by simply clicking the link or directly at Fedex.com/Tracking


Do you offer Lifetime Warranty?

When you purchase an Aston product, you are making an investment that will pay dividend for many years to come. In fact, we are so sure that our product shall withstand the rigors of normal use, that we offer a lifetime guarantee on materials and workmanship. For all products under warranty repair work is free of charge however please note that there is a charge of $21.75 for return shipping. Should your coat, bag or accessory become accidentally damaged, we will be happy to repair and refurbish it for a nominal fee. What We Need on website?

ORDER CONFIRMATION EMAIL - When a customer makes an order please add to their automated email: “We are working hard to prepare your order. Because it is currently being processed, your order cannot be changed at this time. Please note that orders take 1-3 business days for processing before they are shipped.
